Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop 17: SALE A BRATION!

It’s that time again! The new Occasions catalogue launched this week, and with it comes SALE-A-BRATION! What’s Sale-a-Bration, you ask? It’s just this amazing sale where you earn free, yes FREE, stuff when you order. The Occasions catalogue is chock full of beautiful and versatile sets and papers. And the new Sale-a-Bration line up is the best I’ve seen in my 3 years as a demonstrator. For more info, please message or email me!

So, with Occasions and Sale-a-Bration in mind, our Global Stamping Friends community thought this would be the perfect time to showcase some of these amazing products!

I chose to work with one set in the Occasions catalogue and one from my Sale-a-Bration “earnings,” Petal Palette and Epic Celebrations.

I used the coordinating dies that come in the Petal Palette bundle to create that gorgeous lattice out of Sweet Sugarplum card stock, and used the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers to color the flowers in. I have to admit, I didn’t think I’d like those markers as much as I did, so I only ordered a couple to play around with. The green was done using Spectrum Noir markers I had on hand. (I have since made another order to include all of the Blends colors!) They take a bit of practice, but are truly wonderful products. I’ve never had much luck with alcohol markers. Don’t tell my husband — he purchased every set of Spectrum Noir markers Joann’s had on the shelf a couple of years ago. I’ve never really used them. The Blends have the same shaped nib that our regular Stampin’ Write markers have, and I found that to be MUCH easier to work with. I also watched a couple of videos by Sam Hammond of Pootles Papercraft on YouTube. She’s wonderful and I highly recommend her tutorial videos!

For the Epic Celebrations card, I stamped in our Basic Black archival ink and used my aqua painters to “paint,” with Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, , Tempting Turquoise, and Tip Top Taupe on Whisper White card stock.

I fell in love with this set the moment I saw it. I have so many “girly” or “kiddie” sets. This seemed like the perfect in between set. Can be made feminine, masculine, or gender neutral, and can be used for young or old alike. And best of all, it is FREE with a $50 order! For more info check out the SU! links below:

What a diverse pair of cards and both are brilliant. I love the Petal Passion suite and your card is so elegant. The colour combo on your Epic Celebrations card really caught my eye. Thanks for sharing x
