Colorful Seasons

I was such a slacker when it came to getting my goodies ordered from the annual catalogue. There are still a few things I'm mad at myself for not getting, but with the holiday catty coming out soon, maybe I'll change my mind quickly! 😜

At any rate, I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with my new items! It's taken a while longer than I would have liked, but moving, putting a house in order, working full time, and parenting 2 kiddos doesn't leave much time for "playing." Thank goodness for my swap group. Without them I'd be struggling with myself to find time to stamp. And, thanks to some of the July themes, I've had to step out of my comfort zone a bit and get creative. Some were epic failures. Others, were quite the success. I've hidden the failures and am going to share my two favorites.
Done using the Coffee Cafe set in Emerald Envy and Early Espresso. SO much fun! Because: COFFEE! Lol. It's a tunnel card. Here is the inside:

(The coordinating DSP is one of those things I'm angry with myself for not getting!)

The theme for this one is Bees and Vellum. Pretty self explanatory, right? For this one, I used the Colorful Seasons set and coordinating thinlits for the branch, flowers, and sentiment. The bee is from the Dragonfly Dreams bundle. I used Melon Mambo and Fresh Fig for the flowers, So Saffron and basic black for the bee, and Fresh Fig for the sentiment.

Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think! And, as always, if you're interested in any of these products, or finding out how you can get a fantastic discount on them, email me here or check out my online store here.

As always,

Happy stamping!

Blog Hop 11!

Holy cow.  Blog Hop 11!  That means that I’ve been participating with this wonderful group of fellow demonstrators for almost a year now.  I almost cannot believe it’s been that long, because it seems like it has been no time at all!

I’ve been a bit out of touch in recent months.  We went through the drama (yes, DRAMA) of staging and selling our home and buying a new one.  Between cleaning and packing and working and unpacking, I almost forgot how to stamp.  LOL.  But now that we’re all settled, ok mostly settled, I am jumping back into the game.

This month’s theme is Holidays in July — with a twist.  What is this twist, you ask?  We had to create a holiday card using non holiday items.  This was REALLY hard for me!  I had all of these ideas in my head, but when it came time to translate those ideas into a paper craft, my brain and my hands did not cooperate.

This was my first attempt:

I love color combo of Emerald Envy, Rich Razzleberry, and Mint Macron.  I love that darn chicken.  In my head, the trees made it “holiday-ish.” In reality, not so much.  SO, back to the drawing board, so to speak.

Here is my 2nd attempt:

I went back to what I’m comfortable with, both with color and content.  LOL.  A Smoky Slate Foxy Friends fox, a little Island Indigo scalloped circle, some Foxy Friends DSP for accent, and a Pool Party base embossed with Softly Falling TIEF.  I did cheat a little — I couldn’t *not* do something holiday related, so I used the December Paper Pumpkin for the pretty scripted Merry Christmas stamp.

Now, let’s take a look at what our next friend created.  Hop on over, (yes, that pun was intended) to Rebecca Urban’s blog by clicking
